THERE was a full house in the revamped St. Brigid's Hall in Carnew for the opening of the 10th annual South Wicklow Drama Festival last Thursday night.
Drama stalwart Alan Corcoran was on hand to officially open the festival.
The first show of this year's festival was 'Thy Will be Done' by Craanford Drama Group, and the mix of comedy and drama got the festival off to a fantastic start.
All performances commence at 8 p.m. nightly, except on the final night, Friday March 28, when the show starts at 7.30 p.m. to allow adjudicator Patrick Sutton take to the stage afterwards to deliver his eagerly awaited verdict.
There are three nights of plays still to be performed in the Festival as follows:
Wednesday, March 26: Bunclody/Kilmyshall Drama Group with 'April Bright' by Dermot Bolger.
Thursday, March 27: Raspers Players with 'Animal Farm', adaptation by Peter Hall.
Friday, March 28: Ballycogley Players with 'The Hen Night Epiphany' by Jimmy Murphy.
Tickets are available on the door each night.
