GOREY DUO Corey Chambers and Conor Levingstone had a very successful trip to Qatar with the Republic of Ireland Under-15 team recently.

The first game was the big one against the Juventus Under-15 Academy - unbeaten in their previous 13 games in Italy, and always going to present a tough challenge.

Corey (Gorey Celtic) started this match and Conor (Gorey Rangers) came on as a substitute in the secondhalf. By all accounts, this was an excellent match, with Ireland coming out on top with a fantastic 3-0 win.

The second match was against the Aspire Under-15 Academy, and Conor started on this occasion while netminder Corey came on in the second-half. Unfortunately, Ireland were down 3-0 by the time Corey came on, so it was damage control at this stage. The comeback started with Conor scoring his first goal for Ireland, just before he was substituted. Another two goals followed to finish the game at 3-3.

This was a great debut tournament for the two lads. Corey kept a clean sheet in both matches while Conor hit the target for his country. We couldn't have asked for a better result from a goalkeeper and a striker who represented their clubs, town and county with pride.
