Galloping through the generations

THREE generations of equine enthusiasts rode out together for the first time at the annual St Stephen's Day hunt in Bridgetown.

James O'Connor of Greenfield, Killinick has always had an interest in horses and was extremely well-known all over the country for his work as a horse trainer, until in recent years when he gave it up to enjoy his retirement.

However James has never lost his passion for horses and riding, a passion which he passed on to his son David from Bridgetown, who went on to work with horses himself as a jockey for a number of years.

With James as a grandfather and David as a father, there's no way that David's children could escape the passion for equestrian activities. Christopher and Cathy are both already mad about horses and perhaps one day will follow in their father or grandfather's footsteps and become a famous jockey or trainer.
