LARGE NUMBERS of enthusiastic young women braved the elements over the past two weekends to showcase their talents at county Minor camogie trials. A total of 57 individuals contested the two sessions at Piercestown and Hollymount respectively.
Skill, energy and determination were seen in abundance, leaving the management with an ominous task of forming a squad. The management would like to thank all the players (and parents) for attending the trials. Unfortunately, the county is only fielding one team this year at this grade which will leave some players very disappointed.
Commiserations to any player who missed out. The management would like to also thank the St. Martin's and St. Ibar's/Shelmalier clubs for the use of their facilities and pitches at this time of the year. A special word of thanks to the referees who officiated at both trials too.
The following is the provisional squad: Marie Kennedy, Geraldine Curtis, Laura Brennan, Farren Byrne, Michelle Martin, Niamh Walsh, Sorcha Foley, Una Sinnott, Ellen Roche, Orlaith Prendergast, Muireann Byrne, Chloe Cash, Ciara Goland, Noelene Shanahan, Laura Dempsey, Chloe Fox, Katie O'Conner, Amy Cardiff, Hayley Murphy, Doireann Kavenagh, Catríona O'Brien, Hazel O'Leary, Claire O'Rourke, Sarah O'Connor, Aoife Doyle (Geraldine O'Hanrahans), Olivia Lambert, Lauren Carty, Sarah Banville, Victoria Burke, Patrice O'Gorman, Róisín Tobin, Orla Murphy, Robyn McCarthy.
