Wexford took part in a global campaign in support of women survivors of violence .
The One Billion Rising for Justice campaign was created by the playwright and feminist Eve Ensler, author of the Vagina Monologues.
It was held around the world on Valentine's Day with a Wexford event taking place in the Natural Health Store on North Main Street.
Roisin Kenny, a spiritual guide and self empowerment tutor who organised the local event with Ann O'Gorman said all women had the right to be recognised as equal in their homes, their workplaces, their communities, in society and in the world.
The campaign began in response to the UN statistic that one in three women on the planet will be beaten or raped during her lifetime.
In a world population of 7 billion, that adds up to more than two billion women and girls.
