THE TRAGIC death of father-of-one Anthony (Bart) Furlong aged only 25 has occasioned great shock and sadness in the Taghmon and Ramsgrange communities.
Of Barronsfield, Ramsgrange, and formerly of Monastery Avenue, Taghmon, Anthony is survived by his son, Anthony; parents, Mary and Ned; siblings, Terri, Tara, Dennis, Adrian and Noel; grandparents, Michael and Nancy, and Deth Lucitt; extended family and many friends.
Anthony passed away suddenly on Wednesday. Ned said: 'We're trying to get through this; it's a massive shock.'
His father described Anthony as an easy going, laid back young man who loved a bit of fun.
Anthony attended Taghmon NS and Rathangan secondary school in Kildare, where he lived for some time. He moved with his family to Ramsgrange several years ago. After school he worked for Paddy McGee doing tarmacing work around the county.
He said Anthony adored his 5-year-old son and loved spending time with him.
Anthony lived life to the full and enjoyed working on his car, watching Manchester United play and listening to music.
A large crowd attended Anthony's funeral Mass at St. Fintan's Church, Taghmon on Friday and his burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
May he rest in peace.
