Students of Wexford Vocational College were happy to do their bit for charity this Christmas as they presented a hamper to the homeless at Ozanam House. The students have been busy over the past week or two gathering foodstuffs and various other items for a hamper to be presented to the men at Ozanam House.
Vinnie Woods, a project worker with St Vincent de Paul at Ozanam House, said that the gesture meant a lot. 'It has deeply touched us all here,' he said. 'Some of these children are probably coming from families who are struggling themselves, but they are so keen to help people who are less well off. It's just genuine generosity and it's hard to express how much it means to us here.'
Vinnie and the other workers at Ozanam House aim to give back to the students by educating them on the circumstances which lead to homelessness and providing them with practical advice they can take with them into their futures.
