In the Spiegeltent on Tuesday afternoon pupils from the CBS Primary school were at a John Spillane performance.

The entire CBS primary school decamped to the spiegeltent for an Irish sing-a-long with the popular musician John Spillane.

John who compiled the song book entitled 'Songs We Learned at School' performed for 225 pupils and played the guitar as they belted out numbers such as 'Beidh Aonach Amarach, 'Báidín Fheilimí' and Oró Sé Do Bheatha Abhaile'.

'The kids loved it. He was brilliant with them,' said principal Jos Furlong.

'The teachers enjoyed it too. We were all thrilled. It was a real feel-good experience.'

Jos said the pupils also found it exciting to view the interior of the spiegeltent for the first time.
