The mass, held outdoors in front of the altar from the Kerlogue Church, was celebrated by the Bishop Denis Brennan, with Fr Jim Fegan, Fr Paul Murphy, Fr Pat Mernagh, Fr Tom Rogers and the unit's chaplain Fr Ciprian Budau OFM Conv concelebrating.

Before the Mass, units from the South Eastern Region paraded to the church from their headquarters in St John's Drive.

Personnel from Carlow, Kilkenny, Tramore, Waterford and Wexford paraded with their vehicles through the streets of Wexford and were greeted with applause by people in the town.

Members of the public then joined the unit for the Mass. It was attended by Mayor George Lawlor and members of the Wexford Municipal District Committee.

The Loch Garman Silver Band provided the music during the service.
