Some 33 former classmates turned up to the amiable event, along with seven former teachers, one of whom had been their Discipline Officer, Tony Power.

Christina Power, one of the chief organisers of the occasion, said they were a close year in school and the get together in the Ballast Bar of the hotel, involved finger food, a few drinks and alot of talking and laughing.

'It was so unusual to meet people after 30 years , and I hadn't seen some of them since we were 15 years old and doing our Inter Cert,' she said.

Christina organised the successful event with Anita Walsh, Vera Roche and Michael Martin.

'We have decided to set up a closed group on Facebook called Bridgetown Vocational School Class of '84 and hopefully add a few more old classmates to the list for the 40th reunion in ten years time,' she said.
