Joan bids farewell to HSE
HER colleagues bade an emotional farewell recently to Joan Johnson, who has retired from the service of the HSE.
Joan was a stalwart of the family support service, which she joined in 1997, making her a familiar figure around Wexford town and district.
The sense of humour which she brought to her work, along with her warmth, empathy and dedication made her a favourite with everyone in the service.
She was overwhelmed by the turnout at the retirement function at T Morris in Monck Street.
With the weather in Indian summer mode, she and her work mates enjoyed a barbecue and a few glasses of wine as well as the farewell speeches.
And she was called up by manager Carol Wadden to receive a presentation of a camera and jewellery.
Joan is an enthusiastic photographer and she is also looking forward to spending plenty of time with her grandchildren now that she has stepped down from the HSE.
