Former Green Party leader and author of 'Trevor's Kitchen Guide' Trevor Sargent will be present in Wexford to launch an exhibition by local artist David Daly. David's exhibition, 'Images of Birds 2013' will be open at the Pumphouse at Wexford Wildfowl Reserve in Ardcavan from Saturday, October 26, when Sargent will give it it's official launch at 4 p.m.
Images of Birds 2013 is an official part of the Wexford Opera Festival programme of events and will include an enticing selection of the renowned watercolours that have earned Daly membership of the most presitious Water Coulour Society of Ireland.
'I'm delighted to be back at the Pumphouse as part of this year's Wexford Festival Opera,' said David. 'The proximity of the venue to Wexford Wildfowl Reserve creates a vital link between my work and the natural environment that inspires it. Many of my paintings this year not only focus on the birds themselves, but highlight their natural habitats.'
David first began exhibiting his work in 1988 and the most recent exhibition of his work took place last month as part of The Water Colour Society of Ireland's 159th Exhibition at County Hall in Dun Laoghaire. The exhibition will run every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Saturday, October 26 until Sunday, November 3. This will be the 17th time Daly has exhibited at the Pumphouse and his annual event tends to attract visitors from all over, becoming a real 'must see' event.
