BRIDGETOWN businesswoman Diane Goff has launched a Facebook campaign following a raid on her shop in which 450 cartons of cigarettes were stolen.

Four masked raiders broke into the Centra in Bridgetown on Monday, September 16, and stole the cigarettes which have a cost value of €4,500.

Now Diane has taken to Facebook to warn people not to buy cigarettes on the black market which could include packs stolen from her store.

'I would ask anyone who can help us track these people down to call the gardai at Kilmore Quay or to contact me,' she said.

The cigarettes were a variety of brands.

'They weren't choosy,' she said, adding that as well as the cigarettes, the thieves stole two packets of chewing gum as well.

To get their haul out of the store, the raiders smashed down a door using axes.
