Cheese lorry 'cheds' its load

A truck driver had a miraculous escape from injury when a juggernaut carrying 22 tonnes of cheese overturned on the the N25.
The accident happened when the driver lost control of the Nolan Transport vehicle at Moorfields between the Rosslare and Whitford roundabouts.
The driver emerged uninjured from the truck, which ended up on the grass verge on its side. Traffic was disrupted as gardai directed traffic around the accident scene.
A major recovery operation was mounted with assistance from two units of County Wexford Fire Service.
A large consignment of cheese from Wexford Creamery which was en route to a storage depot, was removed box by box from the juggernaut and placed in another truck supplied by Nolan Transport. A Kilkenny company specialising in the recovery of large vehicles was hired to right the truck and tow it away.
A Wexford County Council crew also arrived to clean the road of debris and make it safe for traffic.
Senior Assistant Chief Fire Officer Ray Murphy said a priorty for the fire service was ensuring the safety of other traffic on a busy Main Road, shortly before a ferry was due to disembark in Rosslare Harbour.
