Officers from Revenue's Customs Service swooped at Rosslare Europort last Saturday seizing amphetamines with a street value of €240,000.
The seizure of the 16kgs of amphetamines occurred when a car, disembarking a ferry from France, was stopped and searched.
The seizure was made on foot of routine profiling and the drugs were concealed in the vehicle.
A 40-year-old Latvian man was arrested and taken to Wexford Garda Station where he was questioned. He has been remanded in custody at yesterday's sitting of Wexford District Court to appear before Cloverhill District Court on Friday.
