Toastmasters celebrate their fifth anniversary

Wexford Toastmasters Club celebrated its fifth anniversary this week, having helped people in Wexford to become better public speakers and leaders since January 9, 2009. To celebrate the occasion, the club gathered and cut a special birthday cake to acknowledge the involvement of all its members.
Whether it be helping people with nerves ahead of that all important best man's speech or tackling the jitters ahead of that big presentation at work, Toastmasters has been a vital element for many people in overcoming a fear of public speaking.
Among the club's notable members are Advanced Communicator Gold and Competent Leader Bettie-Marie Burger-Smit and distinguished Toastmaster Brian J Matthews. The club currently has 25 members and meets every second and fourth Thursday of the month at 8 p.m. at the 5th Floor of Whites Hotel.
For more information about the club, see the 'Wexford Toastmasters' Facebook page or alternatively, contact them by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
The public is invited to attend meetings as a guest and experience Toastmasters for themselves.
The next meeting is on January 23 and a special luncheon meeting is being prepared for January 25 with the legendary George Hook.
