German language students of Presentation Secondary School in Wexford welcomed the 'Deutschmobil' to their class last week.
The touring bus, known as 'Deutschmobil', is visiting schools and other educational institutions across Ireland, to foster the learning of the German language, using unconventional and fun teaching methods.
The second year class, 2A5, were delighted to spend the morning learning German in new ways and enjoying many cultural activities. Two German language assistants used many motivating activities to promote interest in the language and the culture of Germany, including music, card-games, role-plays, and map-work.
The initiative is organised between the German Embassy and the Goethe-Institut Irland, and is developed in close association with key Irish educational institutions and business and is also funded by the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service).
