Painting classes get under way

Painting classes with artist Mary Wallace start back this Tuesday November 12 at 7.30pm in the Art Room at Grantstown Centre, Wellingtonbridge and will run for six weeks. The class is suitable for beginners and those with more experience wishing to discover new techniques and explore new directions.
You will use a range of medium including acrylics, pastel, charcoal and more. Learn to understand colour, create depth, explore composition and add texture to your painting. Mary will also introduce elements of combined material and mixed media. Places are limited so book soon. Call Mary at 086 8923606 or 053 9146226.
There is a Parish Council meeting tomorrow Wednesday night at 8 p.m. in parochial house. Hall Clean up The Hall Committee are having a clean up of the hall next weekend, where we plan to meet to clean and paint our hall so if anyone would like to help just turn up on either day we will be there from 10 a.m. The hall committee would like everyone to give suggestions for our new hall, what they would like to see the hall being used for ect, suggestion boxes are in the back of the church, the school and in the hall itself or contact any committee member with your suggestions.
The above fund raising committee in aid of the RNLI stations at Kilmore quay and Feathard is very grateful to 'The Ballycogley Players', Shay Hannon, The Local Set Dancers, John Murphy, Ladies Committee who baked for the occasion, the raffle prize donors and to all the voluntary workers who helped to make the occasion so successful on November 3 last. We appreciate you, the public for leaving your snug firesides to come out on a wet night to support this worthy cause.
The November meeting will be held on Monday November 18 at 7.30p.m. in Carrig Community Centre.
The winner of last month's competition (an arrangement of flowers in a cup) was Ann Rochford. Six members attended the September federation meeting in Ramsgrange. This month's competition is six mince pies (queen cake size).
Martine Creane from Footcare Clilnic, Wellingtonbridge will give a presentation at 8.30p.m.on how to look after and care for your feet, this is an open meeting and all are welcome.
Wexford Male Voice Choir will perform a concert in Carrig Community Centre on Friday November 29 at 8 p.m., tickets are available costing €10 each from any ICA member, Wallace's Drapery Wellintonbridge and at the door on the night.

There was no winner of last week's jackpot of €17,700. The numbers drawn were 7,23,26,28. Congratulations to the 2 match 3 winners who each received €150. A Social and Dance fundraiser in aid of the Rathangan Community Walkway will take place in Rathangan Hall on Friday November 22nd at 9.30pm. Music by Rambling Country (Hogan & Rowe). Admission €7, teas, coffee & buns served. Our Community Walkway is at its closing stages and at present our current shortfall stands at approx €4000. All proceeds from this Social & Dance will go directly towards the funding of the Walkway. Tickets are currently available at Rathangan hall during office hours.

Rosslare Harbour Kilrane Environment Group will be holding a raffle and Christmas Card sale on Friday, 22nd November at Murphy's Supervalu from 9am to 8.30pm. For those posting early for Christmas, the cards will be available from Quikpick, Murphy's Supervalu, Rosslare Maritime Heritage Centre and Vera Fox from next week.

The Knitwits Group will be displaying a selection of their work on Friday 15th November in the Harbour View Hotel between 10.30 am and 1.00 pm. The Rosslare Maritime Enthusiasts, namely Brian Cleare, Brian Boyce, Leo Coy & John Boyce are currently at the end of a 4/5 year project & have produced a book entitled 'Irish Shipping Ltd. - A Fleet History'. The first and official launch of the book will take place on Friday 22nd November in Hotel Rosslare at 8pm and all are welcome.
The RDA AGM will be held on 26th November at 7pm in the Rosslare Sport & Recreation Centre. All are encouraged to attend this meeting!

Rosslare Strand returned to winning ways with a fully deserved 1-nil victory away to Bridge Rovers.Danny o Reilly scored the games only goal and keeps the Strand well in contention in div 2.The Strands B team kept up their recent good form with an excellent draw away to Kilenagh Wanderers,a Dean o Reilly double earned Rosslare a point.
