Loving Peggy will be sadly missed
HALESYRATH, Duncormick, resident Peggy Donovan passed away on July 4, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on October 16, 1937, and went to school in Tullicanna national school. On leaving school she went to work in St Peter's College cycling to and from work every day.
She went to England in the mid-1950s to work, like so many others.
There she married her husband of 56 years, Jim, on March 17, 1958.
The couple set up home in Dorking, Surrey, where they had four children Debbie, Ann, Theresa and son Eamonn. They moved back to Ireland in 1973 to live with Peggie's father Micheal Keane in Halseyrath.
Peggie was an avid bingo player and hardly missed a night in Ballymitty. She also enjoyed her summer trips with Joe O'Brien and trips to Knock shrine annually. She lived for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is sadly missed by husband Jim, daughters Debbie, Ann and Theresa, son Eamonn, her siblings, 12 grandchildren, six greatgrandchildren, and family and friends. Peggy's funeral Mass took place at Ballymitty Church and she was interred in the adjoining cemetery.
