CANAVAN'S Londis at Inch has won the accolade of 'Convenience Store of the Year' at the 2013 Londis Retailing Excellence Awards.
Eleven Wexford stores won Gold, Silver and Category Awards at the awards, crowning the final day of the Group's conference entitled 'Londis - Local Matters'.
The conference recognised the strong role that Londis Retailers play in their respective communities, providing employment, sourcing local products, supporting local causes and servicing the needs of the communities in which they operate.
Canavan's Londis Inch, Martin's Londis Enniscorthy, Doyle's Londis Gorey, Dillon's Londis Fethard-on-Sea, Hanrahan's Londis the Faythe and O'Brien's Londis Larkins Cross were all honoured with a Gold Retailing Excellence Award. Meanwhile, Hanrahan's Londis Piercetown, Corrigan's Londis Oulart, Corrigan's Londis Kilmuckridge, O'Shea's Londis Campile and Boggan's Londis Rosslare were each presented with Silver Awards.
Catherine and Martin Canavan from Canavan's Londis Inch, also went home with one of the top three accolades of the night 'Convenience Store of the Year'.
In winning these awards, the stores were independently audited across a range of criteria including the emphasis placed on customer care, the quality of their fresh food offering, the depth and breadth of their product range, and the store's commitment to upholding the highest standards of hygiene and food safety. Stephen O'Riordan, Chief Executive ADM Londis, congratulated all 11 stores, but said special mention must go to Canavan's Londis, Inch. 'Canavan's Londis, Inch is without question a credit to the local Inch community and the passion that the entire team demonstrate day in and day out is inspiring,' he said. This year's Awards were announced at the Group's Annual Conference held at Carton House in Maynooth, County Kildare.
