Band lifts Faythe school's funds to a tune of €900

The Loch Gorman Youth Brass Band presented a cheque of €900 to the Faythe School.
The presentation of the cheque was accepted by school's principal Liam Turner at the Loch Gorman Band Hall last week.
The youth band which has 20 musicians ranging in age from 10 to 17 years raised the funds at concert in June with the Faythe Rock Choir at the Wexford Arts Centre to raise money for the Faythe School's Special Needs Classes.
Musical Director and conductor of the Youth and Senior Band, John Clancy, said they had a marvellous concert in the Art Centre to raise the funds. 'It was the first full concert the Youth Band has performed and the youngsters were absolutely on a high,' he said.
John said that beside the 20 musicians in the band there 10 more children learning their instruments which include cornets, trombone, tenor horns, and euphoniums.
