THERE was plenty of tale telling for some Wexford school students recently, and for most it was the best school day ever.
November was Storytelling Month for students from eight secondary schools across County Wexford.
The exciting project was organised by two School Librarians (part of the Junior Certificate School Programme) Lee Dickerson (Wexford Vocational College) and Eadaoin Quinn (Enniscorthy Vocational College).
Students from eight secondary schools perfected their storytelling skills in school with the help of their teachers and visits from storytellers.
The highlight was a master class in Wexford Public Library.
The schools involved were Coláiste Abbain, Coláiste an Atha, Bridgetown Vocational College, Bunclody Vocational College, Enniscorthy Vocational College, New Ross Vocational College, Ramsgrange Community School and Wexford Vocational College.
To quote one student after the master class it was, 'the best school day ever; as students shared stories from local family legends, local ghost stories, and funny stories to name a few.
The students also had a chance to record their stories and the CD will be available shortly in the participating schools.
