Photographer Lisa leads by example
Sales have been brisk of the 'Our World' calendar featuring pictures some celebrities and Wexford personalities in a state of undress. The calendar, with a cover price of €10 was launched at the Riverbank Hotel in Wexford and is now on sale in shops throughout the county.
Photographer Lisa McLoughlin explained how the project has helped her with the grieving process since the death of her much loved father Jim Nolan of Foulksmills in March. She had the backing of a committee of hard working supporters as she set about compiling the naughty but nice publication.
The proceeds will be divided between the oncology unit at Wexford General and cancer research. Colm Caulfield from the friends of Wexford Hospital organisation was in the Riverbank to encourage one and all to snap up a copy, or maybe two copies, of the calendar.
Most of the models snapped in the altogether appear without their names in the captions but the three hurlers of the 1996 All-Ireland winning side scarcely require any introduction. They grace the month of June, any potentially scandalous exposure conceals behind some well placed ash.
The celebrities are d'Unbelievable Jon Kenny and ex-Boyzone star Shane Lynch who actually has more clothes on in August than the other eleven months put together. He was keen to cooperate but, when Lisa caught up with him at a motor sport event in Cork, he was mobbed by fans and there was no question of his disrobing.
'Photography is my hobby,' says Lisa who enjoyed the exercise. 'It was an absolute pleasure to do it.' She confessed that she is Miss September, persuaded to pose with a pair of boxing gloves by her buddy Donna Marie Sludds, who may be found in July.
