Digital road traffic signs on the Wexford by-pass road should be in operation by next February.
Cllr. Jim Allen told a Council meeting that the signs were installed over four years ago and never used. He wanted to know if the National Road Authority had ever contacted the Council about activating them
Acting County Manager Adrian Doyle said the signs were installed to provide information on ferries but the ferry companies didn't want to use them. He said they are currently out of order.
Borough Engineer Sinead Casey said the NRA had offered the assistance of their contractor. 'Hopefully, they will be in operation in January or February,' she said.
