Bosco: time to recycle batteries

THE people of County Wexford have recycled well in excess of a million batteries since 2011, according to benefitting charity LauraLynn.

That's the equivalent of 10 batteries for every person in the county.

57 million batteries have been recycled nationwide by WEEE Ireland as a part of the 'Spread a Little Sunshine' campaign for Ireland's children's hospice.

Now, famous red haired puppet and children's TV icon Bosco has joined a campaign to increase battery recycling by 20% on last year.

Bosco's new home has been created out of special WEEE Ireland blue battery boxes which are on display at retailers across the county.

You can also bring batteries back for recycling to local civic amenity sites, or to a WEEE public collection day.
