The spirit of following a career you can look forward to waking up to every morning was alive and well in the RDS Ballsbridge last Saturday as over 250 students from all over the country, took part in the Portobello Institute graduation ceremony. The students were graduating from a variety of disciplines, from Montessori Teaching to Beauty Therapy, Sports Therapy and Fashion Buying.
Two classes from Sligo were present, Montessori Teaching and Special Needs Education, both of which displayed excellent results from all students, who will undoubtedly prove to be major contributors to these two vital sectors in the Sligo area in the near future.
Portobello Institute was established in 1981 and is widely regarded as one of Ireland's foremost further education colleges for a range of areas including childcare, creative studies, sport and beauty therapies.
So as the recession bites, and you find the days at work getting longer instead of shorter, a new career path could be on the horizon. Just make sure you choose a career that you'll look forward to doing in the morning. For more information on courses available in Sligo visit: www.portobelloinstitute.ie or call 01-8920000.
