THE ladies wish to thank Sean Ross & Family for donating a memorial cup in memory of Noreen who died suddently on September 24th.2011 Noreen was a active member of Ballymote and Tubbercurry golf clubs. On Saturday 29th September Tubbercurry were hosts to the playing of the cup.Many stories were exchanged of the late Noreen around the golf course. Proud winners of the cup on the day was Ballymote. Sean made the presentation. A lovely meal was served Thanks to the Tubbercurry ladies for there hospitality on the day

THE Winter League commenced last weekend with the Scotch Foursomes. Round two will be on next weekend with details on the notice board. The final round on Saturday/Sunday 19th/20th will be singles. .Last weekends nine hole was won by Gerry Emmet 23pts, 2nd Michael Rush 23pts, 3rd Phil Emmet 21ptsNext Saturday will be a retirement fundraiser for John Brehony. Format will be a Four Team Rumble, details on noticeboard. The October draw will take place next Sunday evening in the clubhouse.

Beautiful weather combined with fantastic course conditions contributed to the high scoring at the weekend. Fergal O'Flaherty won the Saturday competition on 41 points, a round of 3 over par for the 8 handicapper. Stephen Brady ( handicap 1),shot 1 better on Sunday scoring 42 points, 5 under par. Well done to Fergal & Stephen.
The Winter League commences on Sunday 21st October 2012 and the entry sheet is posted on the club notice board. The dates are Sunday 21st October,4th & 18th November,2nd & 16th December,6th & 20th January,3rd & 17th February with the final played on Sunday 10th March 2013.The format is Four-Ball v par.
The Wednesday Society will hold its first open competition on Wednesday 10th October .The time sheet is posted on the men's notice board. Visitors are welcome. Please contact the office for further information.
After the first successful open day on 5th October, the Friday open days continue throughout October on 12th, 19th & 26th. The entry fee for visitors is €45 for 18 holes with dinner and a drink.Contact 0719177186 to reserve a tee time.
Junior Boy's Captain Alan Gaynor held his Captain's day last Saturday on the Bomore course. A large number of junior boys took part in the Single Stableford competition played over 18 holes. The winner was Cian Feeney on a score of 40 Points, two points ahead of David Brady and Graham Burke who came second and third respectively. The nine hole competition was won by Sean McLoughlin and Ben Kelly was runner up. Alan thanked those people involved in organising the junior golf competitions and the teams through the year. Prizes were presented and the day finished with a B.B.Q.
The Belfry Masters will be played on Sunday October 14th 2012 for the winners of singles competitions played between March 3rd and October 7th inclusive. The winners of the matchplay competitionsThe Jackson Cup, Hanley Cup, Campbell Cup and Bomore Cup also qualify to play. A list of qualifier's will be posted on the club notice board and on the website. The normal Sunday competition will also be held.

Junior Captains Day: Conditions were perfect for Junior Captains Day (Girls and Boys) which was held on Bomore course on Saturday last. Nineteen junior girls competed for the Junior Captain, Aimee Armstrong's prize. Well done to all the people who helped on the day and to Simon Rooney and his helpers who were on duty all day to provide burgers for the young players. Congratulations to all the players and prizewinners.

The October Junior Alliance took place on Thursday last 4th October. A fantastic turnout of 68 women from surrounding clubs showed the continued enthusiasm and support for this event. The 2012/2013 Winter League will now commence on Sunday 11th November (and not 4th November as previously announced). Ladies are reminded to ensure that entries are put on the board by deadline of 14th October 2012. OCT 5TH - This competition was the now famous Belleek Scramble. There was a very large turnout with lots of very strong teams. 1st Padraig Scanlon, Betty Scanlon, Padraig Moran and Tony Grubb with 7 under par and a total of 54.65. 2nd Joey Wimsey, Michael Larkin, Dylan Craig, Bridy Feehily with 6 under par and a total of 55.88. 3rd Tony Burke, Graham Bastin, Vinny Murphy, Bridgie Clarke with 5 under par and a total of 55.95.
The day was made better by a Hole-In-One by Brendan Murphy using an 8 iron on the fourth. This stroke of luck has won him a trip to play in the Belleek Course in south-west Mexico. Best of luck to him and his fellow team mates.
The final of the Rodger Mc Carrick Singles Competition with Joey Wimsey and Fergus Marren will take place on Sunday 14th, As will the final of the Scanlon Insurance Doubles with Damian Keenan and John Brennan hoping to hold off the great Anthony 'Jimbo' Hession and the even better Christy Wimsey. You can't hear a thing in Ballymote with the noise of Novenas being offered.
The final of the High Boys Club was held on Saturday 6th October and was sponsored by Porick Murrays Tanks Ireland and was won by Benny Mc Donagh with 38 pts. Well done to Benny.
Sundays, 14th Octobers competition is an 18 hole Stableford and is the Murphy Perpetual Cup. The C.M.D. Winter League competition will start on the 11th Nov. Make sure to get your name down for this great competition so fill in your name on the sheet in the Clubhouse.
THE winner of the silver medal is Kathleen Grady. Winner of the Bronze medal Brigie Clarke. Both ladies can play in the all ireland final in Headford golf club on Monday 15th October. Good luck to both ladies and have a great day. Next Sunday is the final day of the golfer of the year. There is an 18 hole stableford sponsored by Cleary's of Kiltimagh main Nissan dealers. There are three ladies that could win the title . They are Mary Kennedy who at the moment has a considerable lead but can be caught by either Kathleen Grady or Breege Walsh.
The a.g.m. will be held on Tuesday 6th November in the clubhouse at 8 p.m. Motions and nominations to be with the hon Sec. by Monday 22nd October. Senior ladies meet every Tuesday at 11 a.m. New members are always welcome. Many thanks to all the ladies that did the catering on the day the Noreen Ross trophy was staged in the club.
