FORMER SLIGO Rovers defender, James Meredith, featured in one of the greatest 'giant-killing' acts in the history of the Cup.
The 24-year-old Australian played at left-full on the Bradford City team which scored a sensational penalty shoot-out victory over mega-rich Arsenal in the quarter-final of the Capital One Cup at Valley Parade last Tuesday.
Meredith, who began his career with Derby County, was signed by Paul Cook for Sligo Rovers in July 2007 but only made a handful of appearances for the club before returning to England to join Shrewsbury Town.
He subsequently moved to York City, gaining promotion from the Conference League to League Two with them in 2012, before joining Bradford City last Summer.
