IT WAS a truncated week of action in the Sligo Rovers 11-A-Side Astro Turf League but still a week of progress for Coolaney Celts and Boston United.

Coolaney are now two games unbeaten as they followed up their opening day draw with Lang's Bar with a 3-1 defeat of the P.S.O. The P.S.O. are a side in transition under new manager Craig Walsh and they got off to a great start when Keith Hennessy gave them the lead from the penalty spot. Coolaney though are a much improved side and strikes from John McGowan and Shane O'Brien saw them take the lead. Azad Orang then made sure of the win when he got their third giving Martin Callaghan's men the win.

I.T. Sligo are another side who have started brightly as they beat new team Lick My White Gorilla's 21. Keith McManus and Leo Troy got their goals with Noel Kenny pulling a goal back for the Gorilla's who are still finding their feet in the League. Hargadon's (Calry) played out a 2-2 draw with STSG United with Stuart Rutherford getting both of their goals.

However it was discovered after the game that STSG had fielded two illegal players and they were docked the points and Hargadon's awarded a 3-0 win.

The final game of the week saw Killanaskully Wanderers and Boston United play out a 1-1 draw. Boston are a side formed from the embers of Sligo Plumbing & Heating and under the astute guidance of Carl Gethins they are coming together and will have been happy with this result.

Keith Farragher gave them the lead with Enda McGoey equalising for Killanaskully.
