FORMER SLIGO Rovers goalkeeper, Nicky Broujos, who runs the Jako Ireland store in Sligo, has said he's 'hugely disappointed' that Rovers have chosen a new kit sponsor for the next three years.
Rovers this week confirmed they had entered into a deal with Umbro, thereby bringing to an end their long association with Jako.
"It is a huge disappointment to me and the Jako team that Sligo Rovers committee has chosen an alternative kit sponsor for the next three years," said Broujos in a statement. He thanked his Sligo Rovers customers, fans and team for their support over the last 13 years.
The statement added: "On a personal level, Sligo Rovers have been a major part of my life as player, commercial manager, avid supporter and kit sponsor.
"Our kit sponsorship was more than just a contract - it was my passion and became the passion of everyone at Jako.
"I would like to wish Ian, Gavin and both the senior and U.19 squad, who we also sponsored, the very best for the 2013 season.
"We hope the public support the club for next season. Jako will continue to sell a full range of last season's Sligo Rovers Champions merchandise and we will greatly appreciate continued support. Long live Sligo Rovers."
