Ursuline girls win All Ireland title

Ursuline College Sligo have won the Irish Ladies Golf Union Schools Junior Cup for the first time.

The team consisted of Niamh Cronin (3rd year), Ella McDermott (2nd year) and Maeve Rooney (2nd year). The girls qualified for the All-Ireland by taking the Connacht title, beating five other schools in the final at Lough Rae Golf Club, Galway.

The All-Ireland final was held in Milltown Golf Club, Dublin. The Ursuline girls played against St. Mary's High School, Lurgan; Loreto Kilkenny; Laurel Hill, Limerick; and Alexandra College, Dublin. They won with a two-point lead over their nearest rival St. Mary's High School, Lurgan.
