Jim elected World President of IFSTA

THE INTERNATIONAL Federation of Swimming Teachers Associations (IFSTA) has announced the election of Jim Lawlor of Sligo, Ireland, as World President of the IFSTA at their World Conference held in Adelaide, Australia. Jim succeeds Dr Poluk Chang of Hong Kong as World President.
Mr. Lawlor has served on the World Board of the IFSTA for six years and has been President West of the IFSTA with responsibility for Europe, Africa and the Americas for the last three years. During this time he was instrumental in developing a new Constitution and a new Strategic Plan for the organisation in consultation with the CEO.
He represents The Swimming Teachers Association of Great Britain, where he was made an Honorary Life Vice President in 2008. This honour has only been bestowed twenty seven times in that Association's 80 year history. Jim is also a member of Swim Ireland.
