International gold for David in Jersey finals

BUNNINADDEN Table Tennis player, David Taylor, won a gold medal in the singles event at the Primary Schools International championships in Jersey.
He was a member of the Irish boys team which emerged as silver medal winners overall.
The Irish played against Scotland, Wales, Isle of Man, England, Gurensey and Jersey.
They lost to 6-4 to England and drew with Scotland where a countback of the sets determiend the Irish boys emerged as silver medal winners.
They won all their other games at the tournament.
Apart from Taylor, other Connacht players in the Irish squad were Thomas Joyce from Knock and Natasha Barry from Athlone who was a member of the girls team which won gold medals. The girls also won three gold and one silver in the individual events.
