Sligo begin process to find new manager

THE search for a new manger of the Sligo senior team is under way.
The process was delayed as Sligo worked on putting a budget in place for 2014.
But now the County Board is accepting expressions of interest in the job vacated by Kevin Walsh last July.
A special Managerial Appointments Sub Committee has been set up to move the process forward.
Under the Chairmanship of Joe Taaffe, the committee has invited expressions of interest, including nominations from clubs, from suitably qualified candidates.
The committee say only candidates who have agreed to let their names go forward for interview should be nominated.
And they have stressed that candidates should have appropriate coaching skills and proven managerial ability.
The committee point out that the successful candidate will agree with the County Committee on the resources necessary to provide professional and appropriate training and support for the senior county team.
The new manager will also be obliged to work within the parameters of the County Board's Charter.
The closing date for nominations is next Friday.
Members of the special sub-committee are Joe Taafe, Cyril Feehily, Gerard o'Connor, Joe Queenan and former senior team manager, Tommy Breheny. Meanwhile, provisional fixtures for the 2014 National Football League have been published.
Sligo have three home games and four away in Division Three.
They get the campaign under way with a home tie againt Limerick at Markievicz Park on February 3rd before travelling to Enniskillen the following Saturday for a clash with Fermanagh under floodlights.
They are home to Offaly on March 2nd and then have two away games in a row - against Cavan on Saturday, March 8th, and against Wexford on Sunday, March 16th.
They are at home to Longford on March 30th before finishing up the League schedule away to Connacht neighbours, Roscommon, on April 16th.
