Most successful year ever
TOURLESTRANE celebrated the most successful year in the club's history at their annual dinner dance in the Castle Dargan Hotel.
RTE GAA correspondent, Marty Morrisey, was on hand to make presentations to members of the club's triumphant teams.
The South Sligo club regained the Sligo Senior Football Championship in 2013, defeating local neighbours, Tubbercurry, in the final.
That completed a notable double for the seniors who also won the League's title during the year.
Success wasn't confined to the senior footballers, however.
The senior hurlers also brought a county title to the club, winning the Martin Brennan Cup.
There was success at under-age level for the club's hurlers who won the Minor 'A' Championship.
And it was also an outstanding year for ladies football in the club.
The Intermediate Ladies team won the Sligo Championship in great style before going on to reach the Connacht final.
Their Provincial campaign didn't yield the big trophy but they put up a gallant effort in the decider before losing to eventual All-Ireland Champions, Claregalway.
Medals were also presented to the club's minor footballers who were runners-up in the county championship in 2011 and 2012.
"It was the best year ever for the club," remarked Chairman, Brendan Leonard.
"The dinner dance was a nice way to celebrate all that we achieved.
"Marty Morrisey was our special guest and he enjoyed the night immensely. It was a great way to end the year and we're all looking forward with confidence to 2014."
