Footballers reach for the 'SKY' against the Rebels
SLIGO senior footballers are reaching for the SKY again!
Their All-Ireland Qualifier against Cork in Tullamore on Saturday week is to be shown live.
The throw-in is at 5pm.
Sligo and Cork renew rivarly after Pat Flangan's side followed up victory over Wicklow by beating Limerick at Markievicz Park on Saturday.
A place in the All-Ireland Quarter-Finals is at stake.
The teams met in 2005 when Cork enjoyed a 3-13 to 0-11 victory and again in 2007 when Cork won 1-11 to 0-8 in the All-Ireland Quarter Final at Croke Park.
Sligo boss Flanagan said: "It's a step up.
"I thought we deserved to win against Limerick and now we face a different challenge."
Sligo made life difficult for themselves before emerging from Markievcz Park with a 0-12 to 0-10 victory.
They kicked 13 wides and that is something Flanagan wants to improve on against Cork, who were heavily beaten by Kerry in the Munster Final.
Flanagan said: "It's something we need to work on.
"But, I would be more concerned if we didn't create the chances in the first place."
The Sligo manager added: "It is an interesting challenge.
"It is something we needed to see exactly where we are at.
"I have no fears playing Cork.
"We want to play to the best of our ability.
"As I have said these are knock-out games and it is like playing a final each time."
