COUNTY Sligo Races recently commenced a re-development of the enclosure at the Cleveragh complex, consisting of a new entrance, new Tote Pavillion and a new Grandstand.
The major project is being undertaken to ensure the future of Sligo Races.
In order to help finance the project County Sligo Races need to raise €100,000.
A development fund draw has been launched, with a first prize of a Hyundai car, in addition to other valuable prizes, together with members of the 2013 Sligo Race Supporters Club.
The aim is to make Sligo racecourse one of the most modern in the country, providing the comforts expected nowadays by the modern racegoers.
It is also intended that Cleveragh will become a great attraction for more people to come and visit Sligo and its environs, greatly assisting businesses and the tourist industry in the area. Members of the 2013 Sligo Races Supporters Club entitles entry to all 2013 fixtures in Sligo, free race card at each fixture, members car park, members outing, free entry to other Irish racecourses, entry to the development fund draw and invitation to the official opening.
First prize in the draw is a Hyundai i10, sponsored by Sligo Races and supplied by Martin Reilly, Carraroe.
Other prizes include €500 tote betting vouchers, €500 Paddy Power betting vouchers, annual membership of Galway races for two people and two executive tickets to Parkhead, the home of Glasgow Celtic F.C. The cost per ticket for the draw and 2013 Supporters Club membership is €100. The draw will take place at the race meeting on June 18th, 2013.
