When Gardai were called to a halting site they found two bare chested drunk men, Sligo District Court was told.
Summoned for being intoxicated and with engaging in threatening, abusive and insulting behaviour on September 26th last was Barney McGinley, Bay 9, Ballyfree.
Inspector Sean McGinty also applied to the court to have the defendant bound to the peace saying it "might forestall something else."
Mr. Gerard McGovern, solicitor (defending), said there would be no objection to the application.
He added that it was a family dispute and he hoped this would be the end of it.
Inspector McGinty said McGinley was abusive to the Gardai and made a threat he would get them when off duty.
Judge Kevin Kilrane imposed a four months sentence, suspended for two years.
McGinley was also ordered to enter a bound to keep the peace for one year.
