Ballymote had a very busy and eventful year in 2012, from boxing tournaments, pop-up bistros, fundraising events for worthy causes, summer camps for the children and a very successful and enjoyable St. Patrick's Parade.
The Corran Players with their production "Once a Catholic" which was preformed in the Loftus Hall and the Hawks Well Theatre was a great success. The annual Horseshow was a great family day out.
The opening of the Art Deco was the highlight of the year for many with some great shows and films for all ages being enjoyed every week. The Heritage weekend as always was a great success.
The Country Market continues to attract customers every Saturday morning in the Loftus Hall. As with every year sports in Ballymote were high on the agenda for many with Gaelic , soccer, rugby, basketball, boxing, handball being played over the year. Well done to all the Committees and Clubs in Ballymote for all the hard work over the past twelve months and wishing them every success for 2013.
Ballymote Youth Steering Ltd have had a fairly successful year with lots of ongoing projects, i.e. Christmas Concert, Easter Camps and Summer Camps to keep them active. Last February the Youth Steering Group revived the Bingo in the Loftus Hall and the turn out has been steady and we are looking forward to our Children's' Christmas Concert which will be held on Thursday 20th of December in the Art Deco at 8 pm.
The Children from the Afterschool Club will delight the audience with some song and dance, so don't forget to come along as there will be some surprise artists on the night and Santa will be making an appearance.
There will also be a ticket raffle on the night with numerous prizes to be won, so local support would be greatly appreciated. Looking into the New Year, we are hoping to run some Bingo Sessions and we look forward to a fruitful and Happy New Year.
We wish all the Parents and children the joys of Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year.
