THE Strandhill-based rescue helicopter airlifted a woman to Sligo Regional Hospital after she fell from Horn Head, Donegal.

The woman was part of a group of five walkers in the McSwyne's Gun Loop when she fell and fractured an ankle.

The Donegal Mountain Rescue Team prepared the woman for transfer to Sligo by the Coast Guard helicopter.

Also on Monday of last week, three men from a cargo boat in Killybegs had to be rushed to Sligo Regional Hospital.

They were overcome by gasses from a refrigeration system on board the Frio Olympic, a cargo vessel transferring fruit from South America to Europe.

The men were subsequently released following check-ups.
