'The Zip Yard' opens its doors

BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES arise in the most unlikely of places.
But combine two modern-day truths -- imperfect body shapes and the absence of seamstress skills -- and you have The Zip Yard. The business was founded in 2005. That was after after extensive research identified a gap in the market due to few body shapes conforming to standard European sizes found on the High Street.
It was also realised that people no longer have the time or skills to tackle even the simplest of hems.
And that's not to mention risking damage to a favourite or expensive garment. There are 25 Zip Yard branches in Ireland.
Now, Des and Ali Foley have brought the latest to Sligo, on Rockwood Parade overlooking the Garavogue.
"Whether it's a simple alteration, curtain making, wedding wear, whatever your requirement, our experienced and qualified seamstresses can assist."
The Zip Yard is open from 8.30 until 6.00 Monday to Friday and 9.00 till 5.00 on Saturday. It also offers a 1hour Express Service for urgent alterations for hems, zips and minor repairs.
The Zip Yard is at 5 Rockwood Parade, Sligo. Phone 9138907 or log onto www.thezipyard.ie
