THE A.G.M. of Fine Gael, Michael Lynch Branch, Strandhill was held in the Ocean View Hotel at 8.30. The attendance included John Perry T.D., Clr. Tony McLoughlin and Pauline Howard. As regards first-time voters it was proposed to have a meeting in the near future to go through the register. It was also agreed to run a disco as a young Fine Gael event. The election of officers was as follows:– Chairman, Padraig Duggan; Vice-Chairman, Peter Osborne; Secretary, Nuala Niland; Treasurers, Frank McMorrow and Seamus McGoldrick; Organiser, Declan Lynch; P.R.O., James Egan.

THE following are the times of Holy Week ceremonies in the Churches of the Parish. St. Patrick's, Strandhill, Holy Thursday, Mass of the Lord's Supper, 8.00; Good Friday, Stations of the Cross, 12.00; The Passion, 5.00. Easter Sunday Masses as usual. Ransboro, Good Friday, 3.00; Easter Saturday, 9.00, Easter Vigil; Easter Sunday Mass as usual. St. Anne's Church, Easter Sunday Service, 12.00. Preacher, Bishop, Ken Clarke.

COOLERA Drama Society have enjoyed a litany of successes in recent outings with their production of Martin McDonagh's play, "The Lonesome West". The group took three first places and two seconds on the drama festival circuit. They also collected a number of individual awards. They have now qualified for the All-Ireland drama finals to be held in Athlone in May and also the Ulster Drama Finals to be held in Belfast.

BUS EIREANN services will run as normal on the Strandhill route on Good Friday. The area was without a service on this day for a number of years. However, there will be now service on Easter Monday.

SYMPATHY is extended to Hughie Healy, Breeogue and Willie Healy, Grange East on the death of their sister, Mary Healy. Burial took place in Scarden Cemetery after Mass of the Resurrection in Ransboro Church.

TRAINING sessions for U-10 Community Games Gaelic footballers are being held on Wednesday evenings at 6.00 in Ransboro Park. All interested players should attend. For more information please contact Martin at 68548.

MINISTER for Finance, Charlie McCreevy, paid a visit to Strandhill on Friday night last. He was met at the Dunes by the local Fianna Fail Cumann. However, owing the the Minister's heavy schedule the meeting had to be curtailed.

FRIENDS of the Children of Chernobyl: The annual cake and jumble sale will take place on Good Friday, March 29th, after the 3.00 ceremonies in the Cathedral. The venue is the Gillooly Hall and items for sale can be dropped into Maureen Laffey, Scardenmore. Contact 071 43933.
