Sligo Fun Company gearing up for Oliver

THE Sligo Fun Company is celebrating 30 years of community and youth theatre this year.

With a mixed adult and youth cast of almost 90, it will present 'Oliver!' at the Hawk's Well Theatre in the first week of February.

There are close family ties throughout the cast. Music Director is Niamh Crowley. Her husband, Robert Fitzpatrick is playing Fagan and their son, Eddie, is in the chorus.

Niamh first played with the Fun Company as an orphan in Annie over 25 years ago.

Shane Filan's nephew, Cillian, is also featuring as is his mother, Geraldine Gilroy, in the adult chorus.

There are a number of father and child combinations.

These include Marcel Gordan and his daughter Zoe and Declan Flavin and his son, Sean.

Directors are Mary MacDonagh and Steffen Jorgensen.

The show opens on February 1st and runs for eight nights until February 8th.
