SLIGO ROVERS' record-breaking season got even better on Friday night last when the club made its first appearance on RTE's Late Late Show.
Players Alan Keane, Raffaele Cretaro, Jeff Henderson, Ryan Connolly and Gavin Peers proudly showed off their fledgling moustaches as part of 'Movember' drive to raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society's initiative, Action Prostate Cancer.
Attired in their Sligo Rovers kit, the players were introduced to host Ryan Tubridy as part of a slot where members of An Garda Siochana, the Defence Forces and Naval Service were also sporting moustaches.
Cretaro was deemed by Tubridy to have the best growth on his upper lip and the Tubbercurry native joked that this must down to this his Italian genes, the country where his father hails from.
Alan Keane explained the Rovers players were part of Team Toff's, a 50-strong group from Sligo who are raising funds as part of the Movember charity drive nationwide, now in its fifth year. A gala fancy dress night will take place in Toff 's, Kennedy Parade on December 1st when there will be some 'shave-offs' with prizes being awarded to the best moustaches and beards.
