1 DANCING AT LUGHNASA Everyman Productions bring this epic play to the Hawk's Well Theatre for four nights, starting tomorrow. The story follows the five Mundy sisters, set in 1936. A beautifully written play by Brian Friel. Manus Shields directs. 8pm. 2 FILM FESTIVAL The North West Film and Music Festival begins on November 14th for two weeks. With inspiring documentaries, feature film premieres, rare archives, live scores and extra special guests. Some Like it Hot, Beauty and the Beast and Good Vibrations are some of those featured. The launch takes place on Wednesday (14th) at 7pm in The Model. 3 GET PSYCHOLOGICAL Berberian Sound Studio is the latest film by Peter Strickland. Indefatigable character Toby Jones takes centre stage as a mildmannered English sound engineer. He works in a Romanian dubbing studio on The Equestrian Vortex – a terrifyingly graphic tale of witchcraft and debauchery. The Model Cinema, November 15th, 8pm. 4 AN TRIAIL The popular Gaeltacht company are back with this Brendan Murray directed production. The award-winning company bring An Triail, aimed for students in Leaving Cert. Prepare for puppets, entertainment and engaging visuals. November 15th and 16th at 10.30am and 1.30pm in The Hawk's Well. 5 SHOW STOMPING They premiered their electric show in New York with their foot stomping extravaganza, and now the Dance Theatre of Ireland appear in Sligo on Tuesday, November 13th. Seven performers combine modern and Irish dance, African American stepping and stories in an eclectic show. The Hawk's Well, 8pm. 6 ARGO This film has been attracting much attention from director Ben Affleck, who also stars. The story, based on real events, follows a covert operation to rescue six American hostages in Iran. Affleck is a CIA special agent who comes up with a plan to rescue the hostages. Expect some fine espionage work. George Clooney produces. Argo opens tomorrow in GCG Sligo.
