Olwyn Parslow is the new Sligo Rose.
The national school teacher competed against six other ladies at the gala event in The Clarion hotel.
There was plenty of glitz and glamour on show at the contest, last Friday.
Originally from Galway, Olwyn has been living in Sligo for some time.
She teaches junior and senior infants in St. Brendan's.
A member of Sligo Musical Society, Olwyn expertly sang 'All That Jazz' from 'Chicago'.
The other competitors were Maire O' Gara, Samantha Connolly, Niamh Lyons, Aimee Leigh McGuillon, Helen O' Reilly and Tara Finn.
Last year's winner was Nicola McEvoy.
It's on to Portlaoise now for Olwyn; the regional finals begin on May 30th.
