IFA Farm Business Skillnet training

Sligo Farming

IFA Farm Business Skillnet is rolling out a programme to ensure all IFA Commodity Committees are equipped to provide the best possible representation for their fellow farmers on important agriculture issues.

Through the programme, Committee members will have a clear understanding of their role and responsibilities as elected representatives of their sector. The programme will focus on improving lobbying and communication skills.

The ultimate goal is to give committee members the confidence to represent their sector effectively at county and national level.

The National Sheep Committee led the way in June when they participated in an "Effective Communications and Presentation" skills workshop delivered by award-winning coach Karl O'Connor of Neary Marketing & Communications.

James Murphy, Chair of Farm Business Skillnet, is confident this initiative will benefit all Committee Members, helping them to craft and communicate their key points, and will ultimately ensure all IFA members receive the best possible representation.
