Employment Scheme is safe

BALLYMOTE'S Community Employment Scheme is to continue.

The Ballymote Area Development Group is the co-sponsor with the Department of Social Protection.

There are 24 workers on the scheme.

The majority are based in Ballymote, but it also serves as headquarters for workers in Culfadda, Keash, Coolaney/ Mullinabreena and Collooney. Chairman of the new group, Padraig Rogers said: "We're delighted to be sponsoring the scheme.

"It means a lot of good work in Ballymote and the other areas will be on-going. "Other people will join the scheme in the future."

The sponsorhip by the Development Group was launched at a special function in the Pastoral Centre.
