Delays in planning body decisions being addressed

An Bord Pleanala has apologised for delays in issuing decisions due to "capacity constraints" which will be resolved in "the coming months."

It would appear that those most affected would be housing application appeals with major projects still being processed normally.

In a statement the board says there was currently a delay in deciding planning appeals and applications.

"This is due to capacity constraints at board level which will be resolved in the coming months as new board members take up their posts at An Bord Pleanala.

"We would like to reassure customers that every action is being taken to ensure their case is processed and decided as quickly as possible.

"Certain categories of cases for example, strategic infrastructure, major housing developments and school projects will continue to be prioritised for decision.

"An Bord Pleanala apologises for any inconvenience caused and wishes to thank customers for their patience during this time," the statement concluded.
