THE COURTHOUSE provided the setting for a festive carol service in aid of the Sligo Cancer Support Centre.
The Mercy College choir performed a programme of carols and some lighthearted choral pieces.
Noreen McIntyre directed and was assisted by Sarah Dufficy.
Charles O'Connor, musical director at Sligo Cathedral, was accompanist with Megan Gethin.
The choir sang many traditional carols, including Silent Night in both English and Irish and some contemporary Christmas songs-Walking in the Air, Walking in a Winter Wonderland and more.

The very talented McKenna sisters, Ide and Orlaiith, played flute and concertina.
Emily Gaine also played some traditional Irish music on the harp.
Grace Filan read Twas The Night Before Christmas, Hannah Scanlon read Dana Nollaigh by Mairtin O'Direain and Niamh Walsh read the story behind the composition of Silent Night.
The highlight of the night for the choir was their performance of Carol of Bells unaccompanied.
